Ellansé Pre-Treatment Guidance

To prepare for your Ellansé appointment at Skin Medical:

• Arrive with clean skin, free from make-up or skincare products in the treatment area
• Eat before your appointment to ensure comfort during treatment
• Avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen where possible, unless prescribed by your doctor
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment to minimise the risk of bruising and swelling
• Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your visit
• Inform Dr Karim of any previous facial or injectable treatments, medical conditions or medications at your consultation

During your appointment:

• Clinical photographs and consent will be completed before treatment
• The treatment area will be assessed, marked and cleansed
• Local anaesthetic will be used to ensure comfort throughout the procedure
• Treatment time is typically 30 to 60 minutes depending on the areas being treated

What to Expect Immediately After Ellansé

Ellansé is a well-tolerated injectable treatment with a straightforward recovery for most patients.

You may experience:

• Swelling, redness and mild bruising at and around the injection sites
• Tenderness or sensitivity in the treated area for the first few days
• A fuller appearance immediately after treatment due to the CMC gel carrier providing instant volume and lift

Because Ellansé also stimulates your body’s own collagen production over time, the result you see immediately after treatment will gradually refine and improve further over the following weeks and months as new collagen forms beneath the skin.

Ellansé Post-Treatment Care

To support your recovery and help achieve the best possible outcome from your Ellansé treatment, please follow these aftercare instructions carefully.

• Avoid touching, pressing or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours to allow the product to settle properly
• Apply a cold compress gently to help reduce swelling if needed, but do not place it directly onto the skin
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment to minimise bruising and swelling
• Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs and activities that raise your body temperature for 24 hours post-treatment
• Avoid extreme heat, UV exposure and sunbeds until any swelling and redness have fully settled
• Avoid laser treatments, chemical peels and skin resurfacing treatments in the treated area for at least two weeks after treatment
• Avoid dental procedures for two weeks following treatment
• Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or above on any exposed treated areas
• Do not apply make-up for 24 hours; when you restart, use clean brushes or new sponges to minimise any risk of infection
• Paracetamol may be taken if needed for discomfort. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and other anti-inflammatory medications for 24 hours as these may worsen bruising
• Stay well hydrated, as good hydration supports collagen stimulation and aids recovery

When Will I See Results from Ellansé?

Who May Not Be Suitable for Ellansé?

Suitability for Ellansé should always be assessed during a full consultation with Dr Karim. Treatment may not be appropriate if you have active skin infections, open wounds or compromised skin in the treatment area, a known allergy to any components of the product, a history of abnormal scarring, or are pregnant or breastfeeding. A thorough consultation is essential to determining the best treatment plan for you.

When to Contact Skin Medical

Ellansé is a clinically approved and well-established treatment when performed by an experienced medical practitioner. However, please contact Skin Medical promptly if you experience:

• Significant or worsening swelling beyond 48 hours
• Severe or persistent pain
• Signs of infection such as increasing redness, heat or discharge
• Any unusual changes in skin colour or sensation around the treated area
• Any reaction that feels unusual or more severe than expected
