About the service

At Skin Medical we offer a dedicated GP and Women’s Health service, led by Dr Shabana Daya. This service has been developed to provide women with a thorough, personalised approach to hormonal health, perimenopause and menopause care, and the management of skin conditions that are influenced by hormonal change.

We understand that navigating hormonal health can feel overwhelming. Symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, irregular cycles, sleep disturbance, brain fog, and changes to the skin and hair are often interconnected and can have a significant impact on everyday life. Our aim is to provide a calm, thorough and supportive environment in which these concerns can be fully explored, investigated and addressed with a bespoke treatment plan.

What does the Women’s Health Consultation include?

Prior to commencing any women’s health management or medication at Skin Medical, a consultation with Dr Shabana is required. This initial appointment forms the foundation of your care and ensures that any treatment plan is built around your individual circumstances, symptoms and health history.

During your consultation, Dr Shabana will take a full medical history and review your current and previous medications. Your symptoms will be discussed in detail, and a bespoke prescription and treatment plan will be developed specifically for you.

Depending on your symptoms and health history, you may also be advised to undergo further investigations such as blood tests, pelvic scans, cervical smears or other relevant screenings. The cost and nature of any additional investigations will be clearly outlined in your comprehensive treatment plan so that you have a full picture before committing to anything.

The cost of the initial consultation is £150. This fee is non-refundable.

Fabulous service from the moment I entered the door. Dr. Sabika was brilliant and extremely knowledgable – she made me feel at ease right from the start and through the treatment. I’m looking forward to starting my skin journey with Dr. Sabika and team. Lorraine at the front desk was also really lovely and polite.
The clinic was beautifully presented with great parking facilities.
Thank you again for a lovely experience.

I can’t speak highly enough about my experience at Skin Medical! I had been struggling with severe acne flare-ups and was feeling pretty discouraged. After seeing Saif on TikTok and learning about the treatments, I decided to reach out. From the moment I contacted the clinic, I felt supported and cared for. Saif, along with Dr. Sabika, Malleni, Lorraine, and Mobeena, have been incredibly kind, professional, and truly dedicated to helping me.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral to book a Women's Health consultation at Skin Medical?

No referral is required. You can book directly with our team by calling, emailing or booking online. Dr Shabana will take a full medical history at your consultation, so there is no need to obtain anything from your GP before your first appointment, though bringing any relevant letters or test results you already have can be helpful.

Is the consultation fee refundable?

The initial consultation fee of £150 is non-refundable. This reflects the clinical time and expertise involved in your appointment regardless of whether you proceed to treatment.

What is bioidentical hormone replacement therapy?

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses hormones that are chemically identical to those produced naturally by the body. It is used to address the symptoms of hormonal imbalance, perimenopause and menopause. Dr Shabana can discuss whether this approach is appropriate for you at your consultation.

Can I have the blood tests done before my consultation?

Your initial consultation with Dr Shabana takes place first. This allows her to assess your symptoms, review your medical history and determine whether blood testing is appropriate and which markers are most relevant for you before ordering any tests.

How long will it take to see results from treatment?

This varies depending on the individual, the type of treatment prescribed and the nature of your symptoms. Dr Shabana will discuss realistic expectations with you at your consultation and will monitor your progress at each four-weekly review appointment.

Is the Women's Health service suitable for women of all ages?

Yes. While the service has a particular focus on perimenopause and menopause, Dr Shabana sees women of all ages experiencing hormonal concerns, irregular cycles, skin conditions linked to hormonal fluctuation, and other general health concerns that fall within the scope of her specialist practice.

Can I see Dr Shabana for skin concerns as well as women's health?

Yes. Dr Shabana’s background spans both general practice and clinical dermatology, and she is well placed to address skin conditions that have a hormonal component, such as acne and pigmentation disorders. Where appropriate, she works alongside the wider Skin Medical team to provide a joined-up approach to your care.
