Specialist women’s health care at Skin Medical in Northwood, London. Bespoke consultations, comprehensive hormonal testing and personalised treatment plans with Dr Shabana Daya.
At Skin Medical we offer a dedicated GP and Women’s Health service, led by Dr Shabana Daya. This service has been developed to provide women with a thorough, personalised approach to hormonal health, perimenopause and menopause care, and the management of skin conditions that are influenced by hormonal change.
We understand that navigating hormonal health can feel overwhelming. Symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, irregular cycles, sleep disturbance, brain fog, and changes to the skin and hair are often interconnected and can have a significant impact on everyday life. Our aim is to provide a calm, thorough and supportive environment in which these concerns can be fully explored, investigated and addressed with a bespoke treatment plan.

Prior to commencing any women’s health management or medication at Skin Medical, a consultation with Dr Shabana is required. This initial appointment forms the foundation of your care and ensures that any treatment plan is built around your individual circumstances, symptoms and health history.
During your consultation, Dr Shabana will take a full medical history and review your current and previous medications. Your symptoms will be discussed in detail, and a bespoke prescription and treatment plan will be developed specifically for you.
Depending on your symptoms and health history, you may also be advised to undergo further investigations such as blood tests, pelvic scans, cervical smears or other relevant screenings. The cost and nature of any additional investigations will be clearly outlined in your comprehensive treatment plan so that you have a full picture before committing to anything.
The cost of the initial consultation is £150. This fee is non-refundable.

For patients who require hormonal blood testing, Skin Medical offers a comprehensive Women’s Health blood panel covering the key markers most relevant to hormonal health and wellbeing.
The panel covers, but is not limited to, the following markers:
Oestrogen, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA
The cost of the Women’s Health blood panel is £450.
Following your blood tests, a follow-up consultation is required approximately one week later to discuss your results with Dr Shabana. During this appointment, your results will be reviewed in full, and a decision about next steps and treatment options will be made together. You will be provided with a copy of your test results upon request.

If you decide to commence treatment following your initial consultation and blood tests, you will be required to attend the clinic every four weeks for a review appointment. At each review, Dr Shabana will assess your progress, discuss any changes to your symptoms, and issue a new prescription if treatment is to continue.
Review appointments are charged at £100 per session.
This regular review process is an important part of ensuring that your treatment plan remains appropriate and effective as your body responds and your needs evolve over time.

The Women’s Health service at Skin Medical covers a broad range of concerns. These include perimenopause and menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, fatigue, sleep disturbance, brain fog and reduced libido. It also encompasses hormonal imbalances, irregular menstrual cycles, low energy, and skin and hair changes associated with hormonal fluctuation including acne, pigmentation and hair thinning.
For patients whose skin concerns are connected to underlying hormonal health, the combination of Dr Shabana’s specialist knowledge in both dermatology and women’s health makes Skin Medical a uniquely well-placed clinic to address both dimensions of care together.

Your Women’s Health journey at Skin Medical typically follows the steps below, though this may vary depending on your individual circumstances and what Dr Shabana recommends at your initial appointment.
Step one: Initial consultation with Dr Shabana (£150). Your medical history, symptoms and current medications are reviewed in full and a preliminary treatment plan is discussed.
Step two: Women’s Health blood panel if required (£450). Comprehensive hormonal testing covering oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone and DHEA, alongside any additional investigations recommended.
Step three: Follow-up results consultation approximately one week after testing. Your results are reviewed together with Dr Shabana and a decision about next treatment steps is made collaboratively.
Step four: Commencement of treatment if appropriate. A bespoke prescription and treatment plan is issued.
Step five: Ongoing four-weekly review appointments (£100 per session) to monitor progress, adjust treatment if needed, and issue ongoing prescriptions.

At Skin Medical, award winning doctors, trained in dermatology and minor surgery, use the latest laser and surgical techniques to ensure precision and minimal scarring.

No referral is required. You can book directly with our team by calling, emailing or booking online. Dr Shabana will take a full medical history at your consultation, so there is no need to obtain anything from your GP before your first appointment, though bringing any relevant letters or test results you already have can be helpful.
The initial consultation fee of £150 is non-refundable. This reflects the clinical time and expertise involved in your appointment regardless of whether you proceed to treatment.
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy uses hormones that are chemically identical to those produced naturally by the body. It is used to address the symptoms of hormonal imbalance, perimenopause and menopause. Dr Shabana can discuss whether this approach is appropriate for you at your consultation.
Your initial consultation with Dr Shabana takes place first. This allows her to assess your symptoms, review your medical history and determine whether blood testing is appropriate and which markers are most relevant for you before ordering any tests.
This varies depending on the individual, the type of treatment prescribed and the nature of your symptoms. Dr Shabana will discuss realistic expectations with you at your consultation and will monitor your progress at each four-weekly review appointment.
