Silhouette Soft Pre-Treatment Guidance

To prepare for your Silhouette Soft appointment at Skin Medical:

• Arrive with clean skin, free from make-up or skincare products
• Eat before your appointment to ensure comfort during treatment
• Avoid blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen where possible in the days before treatment, unless prescribed by your doctor
• Avoid alcohol for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment to minimise the risk of bruising and swelling
• Avoid dental procedures for two weeks prior to treatment
• Inform Dr Karim of any previous facial treatments, including fillers, surgical procedures or implants at your consultation
• A consultation is compulsory before all Silhouette Soft treatments at Skin Medical

During your appointment:

• Clinical photographs and consent will be completed before treatment begins
• The treatment area will be cleansed and marked thoroughly
• Local anaesthetic will be applied to ensure comfort throughout the procedure
• Treatment time is typically 60 minutes

What to Expect Immediately After Silhouette Soft

An immediate lifting effect is visible following Silhouette Soft treatment. However, some post-treatment effects are entirely normal as the skin and underlying tissues adjust to the threads.

You may experience:

• Mild swelling and bruising around the treated areas
• Redness and tenderness at the thread entry points
• Dimpling or puckering of the skin along the thread insertion lines, which is a common and expected part of the healing process
• A feeling of tightness or mild heaviness in the treated areas

Dimpling typically resolves on its own within one week as the skin settles around the threads. Swelling and bruising also fade during this time. Please contact us if anything feels unusually severe or prolonged.

Silhouette Soft Post-Treatment Care

Careful aftercare following a thread lift is important to ensure the threads remain correctly positioned and your results are preserved. Please follow these instructions carefully.

• Sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated for the first week to minimise swelling and avoid putting pressure on the threads
• Avoid touching, rubbing or massaging the treated area for at least two weeks
• Avoid make-up over the entry points for 24 hours or until any marks have fully healed
• Avoid strenuous exercise and activities that involve significant facial movement or exertion for two weeks
• Avoid dental procedures and wide mouth opening such as yawning excessively for at least two to four weeks after treatment
• Avoid facials, facial massage, microneedling and other skin treatments in the treated area for at least four weeks
• Avoid saunas, steam rooms and intense heat for two weeks following treatment
• Avoid alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment to reduce bruising and swelling
• Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or above daily to protect the skin during healing

When Will I See Results from Silhouette Soft?

Silhouette Soft delivers both immediate and progressive results.

• An immediate lifting and repositioning effect is visible straight after treatment
• Initial swelling and dimpling resolves within one week, allowing the true lift to become clearer
• Collagen stimulation continues over the following months as the polylactic acid threads gradually absorb, improving skin quality, firmness and contour over time
• Results can last up to 24 months depending on the area treated, individual skin quality and lifestyle factors

Most patients achieve their desired outcome in a single session. Dr Karim will advise on whether any further treatment is needed at your follow-up review.

Who May Not Be Suitable for Silhouette Soft?

Suitability for Silhouette Soft should always be assessed during a full consultation. Treatment may not be appropriate if you have active skin infections, open wounds or compromised skin in the treatment area, a history of keloid scarring, significant skin laxity that may be better suited to a surgical approach, certain autoimmune conditions or skin disorders, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.

A thorough consultation with Dr Sabika Karim will be carried out before treatment to assess your facial anatomy, confirm suitability and design a bespoke thread placement plan tailored to your goals.

Silhouette Soft is a safe and effective non-surgical treatment when performed by an experienced medical professional. However, please contact Skin Medical promptly if you experience:

• A visible or protruding thread beneath the skin
• Persistent or worsening swelling beyond one week
• Signs of infection such as increasing redness, heat or discharge
• Unusual pain or sudden changes in the appearance of the treated area
