CoolSculpting is designed to help you achieve your body contouring goals—with no surgery and little to no downtime.
CoolSculpting is an advanced non-invasive technology engineered to reshape and redefine your body by eliminating stubborn fat cells. This method offers a surgery-free alternative for body contouring, avoiding the discomfort and downtime of invasive procedures.
CoolSculpting, a form of cryolipolysis, uses controlled cooling to specifically target and destroy fat cells. The process involves cooling fat cells to a temperature that causes their natural death—a process scientifically known as apoptosis. The body gradually flushes out these cells through its natural metabolic processes. The technology is FDA approved and has gained immense popularity globally, championed for its effectiveness and high safety profile.
All of our CoolSculpting treatments start with a thorough consultation.
Think about the area(s) you want to treat and think about a list of questions to ask the team at Skin Medical. Need some help? Click here to see a full list.
During the consultation we will discuss these areas you want to treat including your body contouring goals. We will determine whether you are suitable for the treatment, including your target areas.
Your personalised CoolSculpting treatment plan will include the number of sessions you will need and the time of those sessions. For many patients, two or more treatment sessions are recommended.
We will take clinical photographs to help you track your before, during, and after progress.
Next, we will outline the area to be treated, apply a gel pad to create a barrier between the applicator and your skin, and then place the applicators on your body. As treatment begins, you’ll feel a light vacuum pressure and an intense cold. After approximately 10 minutes or so, the area being treated will become temporarily numb.
When each treatment ends, the applicator(s) and gel pad are removed. The treated area is then massaged for 2 minutes to help break up the fat cells. On average, each treatment session is as little as 35-75 minutes per cycle (treatment), depending on the area treated. Each session takes around 35-60 minutes on average. If you are treated with a CoolSculpting® Elite machine, dual applicators can treat two areas at the same time.
Since CoolSculpting has little to no downtime, you can go back to your busy day. Since many patients receive more than one treatment session, you may return for additional treatments in 6-8 weeks.
Your body will naturally eliminate the treated fat cells.
Typically, it takes 1-3 months to see results, with full results taking 6 months or more.
At Skin Medical we have every Cool sculpting device from the original to the Elite, giving you fantastic results.
CoolSculpting Elite: The newest and most advanced model features dual applicators for simultaneous multi-area treatment, enhancing both efficiency and patient comfort.

CoolMini: Tailored for smaller areas such as the submental region (under the chin), providing precise fat reduction where larger applicators might not fit.

The procedure is generally well-tolerated. Initially, you might experience sensations of pulling, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, or discomfort, which typically subside as the area becomes numb within the first few minutes.
Visible improvements can be noticed as early as three weeks after treatment, with the most significant results appearing after two months as your body continues to flush out fat cells.
Once the fat cells are eliminated, they are gone. However, significant weight gain can cause remaining fat cells to increase in size, so maintaining a stable weight is important for maintaining results.
The cost varies depending on the number of areas treated and the clinic, but typically ranges from £400 to £750 per session.
Following the procedure, typical side effects include temporary numbness, redness, swelling, bruising, stiffness, and mild pain at the treatment site. These are generally temporary. There is also a very small risk of paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. This is why its really important that you have your treatments with a qualified medical professional.
