Aftercare for Radiesse

Welcome to your aftercare page

Thank you for choosing Skin Medical for your Radiesse treatment. We’re thrilled to be part of your journey in achieving youthful, rejuvenated skin! To ensure the best possible results and a smooth recovery, please review the following aftercare instructions.

Common side effects following Radiesse treatment may include:

  • Mild redness or swelling at the injection sites
  • Tenderness or slight discomfort in the treated areas
  • Bruising (rare but temporary)
  • Mild itching or tightness in the treated area
  • Temporary asymmetry as swelling may increase within the first 24 hours, but this will settle within 1–2 weeks

These side effects are normal and should subside within a few hours to a few days. If you experience anything more severe or prolonged, please contact us.

Swelling: Mild swelling is common and can increase within the first 24 hours. It will usually subside within 1–2 weeks. Temporary asymmetry is also possible as the filler settles.
Avoid Rubbing or Massaging the Treated Area: Do not rub, massage, or apply pressure to the treated areas for 24 hours after your treatment to allow the product to settle properly.
Avoid makeup for at least 12 hours after treatment to minimize the risk of infection.
Heat Exposure: Avoid heat exposure such as UV light, saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools and tanning beds for 24 hours post-treatment to minimize irritation and swelling.
Exercise & Physical Activity: Refrain from intense physical activity and exercise for 48 hours after treatment to allow the filler to settle.
Hydration: Drink plenty of water for 24–48 hours after treatment to support your body’s natural healing processes and reduce swelling.
Avoid Anti-inflammatory Medications: Refrain from taking Aspirin, IbuprofenNurofen, or other anti-inflammatory medications, as well as alcohol, for 24 hours post-treatment to minimize the risk of bruising.
Extreme Temperatures: Avoid extreme temperatures such as UV light, saunas, sunbeds, and swimming pools until any redness or swelling has fully settled.
Facial Treatments: Avoid facial treatments such as chemical peelsmicrodermabrasion, or laser treatments for 2 weeks after your Radiesse treatment.
Dental Work & Vaccinations: Avoid dental work, vaccinations, or other aesthetic treatments in the treatment area for at least two weeks after your Ellansé session.
With hand augmentation, avoid carrying heavy objects and do not wear any jewellery, such as rings or watches, until any swelling has resolved.
Results Timing: You may notice an immediate improvement, but the full effect of your Radiesse treatment will typically be visible after 1–2 weeks as the filler integrates into the skin. Radiesse stimulates collagen production, and the results can last anywhere from 1–2 years depending on the area treated and individual response.

🔹 Follow-Up Appointments: A follow-up appointment after 2 weeks is recommended to assess your results and determine if any additional treatment is needed. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

🔹
Skin Care: Continue your usual skincare routine but avoid applying strong exfoliants or facial scrubs directly to the treated areas for 7 days after your treatment.
