Aftercare for Hyperhidrosis Treatment

Thank you for trusting Skin Medical with your hyperhidrosis treatment. We hope your experience was smooth and comfortable. To help you achieve the best possible results and ensure a speedy recovery, please review the following aftercare guidelines carefully.

Common side effects following hyperhidrosis treatment may include: 

• Mild redness or swelling at the injection site 
• Slight discomfort in the treated area
• Bruising (although this is rare and temporary) 
• Headache (in some cases, typically mild) 

These side effects are normal and should subside within a few hours to a few days. If you experience anything more severe or prolonged, please contact us immediately. 

✅ Avoid Rubbing or Massaging the Area: Do not rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours after your treatment to avoid spreading the Botox.
✅ Exercise & Physical Activity: Refrain from strenuous physical exercise for 24 hours after the treatment. This will allow the Botox to settle into the area without disruption.
✅ Heat Exposure: Avoid exposure to heat, including saunas, hot tubs, or tanning beds, for 24 hours after your procedure.
✅ Headache: Some patients may experience a mild headache following the procedure. If this happens, paracetamol can be taken as needed.
✅ Avoid Anti-inflammatory Medications: Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Nurofen, or other anti-inflammatory medications, nor alcohol for 24 hours post-treatment, as they can increase bruising.
✅ Bumps & Bruising: You may notice small bumps or marks at the injection site, but these will typically resolve within a few hours. Bruising can occur but is rare and temporary. If you experience bruising, it can usually be covered with makeup.
✅ Results Timing: Botox for hyperhidrosis typically begins to take effect within 4–7 days. The full results may be seen in about 2 weeks. The effects of the treatment usually last around 3–6 months depending on the individual.
