Aftercare for Anti-Wrinkle Injections

Thank you for trusting Skin Medical with your anti-wrinkle injection treatment. We hope your experience was smooth and comfortable. To help you achieve the best possible results and ensure a speedy recovery, please review the following aftercare guidelines carefully.

Common side effects following anti-wrinkle injections may include: 

• Mild redness or swelling at the injection site 
• Tiny bumps or marks that should resolve within a few hours
• Bruising (although this is rare and temporary) 
• Headache (in some cases, typically mild) 

These side effects are normal and should subside shortly. If you experience anything more severe or prolonged, don’t hesitate to contact us. 

✅ Facial Care:Do not have a facial, nor rub or massage the treated areas for 24 hours after your treatment. This helps avoid any irritation or movement of the Botox.
✅Rest and Exercise:Avoid lying down or doing strenuous exercise for at least 3 hours after your treatment. This allows the Botox to settle into the muscles properly.
✅ Heat & Sauna Exposure:Refrain from exposing the treated area to any heat, such as a sauna, hot tub, or tanning beds, for 24 hours post-treatment.
✅ Headache:Some patients may experience a mild headache after the procedure. If this happens, paracetamol can be taken as needed.
✅ Avoid Anti-inflammatory Medications: Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Nurofen, or other anti-inflammatory medications, nor alcohol for 24 hours after your procedure, as they can increase bruising. 
✅ Bumps and Bruising: Any tiny bumps or marks at the injection site will typically resolve within a few hours. There is a small chance of bruising, but if it occurs, it should be temporary and can often be covered with makeup. 
✅ Results Timing: Botox typically takes 3-10 days to begin to show its effects, with full results visible within 2 weeks. If you’d like a review at the two-week mark or have any concerns about the results, please feel free to book an appointment with us.
